Hit leaving Taco Bell

Well I was just on my lunch break, I went to Taco Bell with a buddy. When we were getting ready to make a left out of the parking lot some guy in a full size van hit me in my drivers side rear bumper. The scrape is about the size of a basketball. It went all the way through to the black on the top where the bumper crease is but other than that doesn't look too bad.
Just looking for some insight on what to expect for repair costs if anybody has ever had a similar repair done. I have heard that matching a silver metallic paint is a PITA so I don't know if the entire rear bumper will have to be repainted. I plan on getting a few quotes in the next day or two. I will also post some pics when I get the chance.

Sorry to hear that Zack. It sounds like around $500 and I would demand a full respray of the bumper.

Estimates without knowledge of local parts and labour costs, much less seeing the damage, will be of limited use; however, for what little it's worth... $400 for respray, $800+ for bumper replacement and respray.

Understandable, I was just curious because I have never been in an accident, in my own car, and have had to get it repaired so I was just wanting to know a ballpark figure to expect when I look around.

Yes, he is from out of state (Tennessee) I don't know if that will make things more difficult or not.

The guy was really cool about it, He gave me all his information and said to give him a call when I have the quote.

I was sitting at the parking lot exit waiting to make my left turn to leave Taco Bell and the guy was leaving the drive thru which was on my passenger side and about a car length behind where I was sitting. He just pulled out of the drive thru and hit me saying "Oh man I didn't see you there."
He had a bunch of 2x4's in the van sticking all the way to the windshield which were definitely blocking his view.

P.S. Hope the kitties are doing well! You're kinda lucky you have them because despite the stress from the accident, you get to just go home and cuddle up with a bunch of kitties. Lucky.
