I just changed my oil and now my car doesn't run the same...

I switched to German Castrol 0w-30 this weekend. Now my engine doesn't tick, pop, tap, or basically sound like a sewing machine anymore.

What's up with that? Something must be wrong because a Subaru engine isn't supposed to sound this smooth...

I would drain and refill. The ticks, pops, tacks and sewing machine sound is where all your power comes from; you'll wanna get those back asap.

I might have to try this stuff on my ticking LS2.

At $25 for 5 qts, plus a free filter, I couldn't pass it up.

Pep Boys. But Autozone usually stocks it too.

After reading a lot of FAQs and searches, you'll find out about weights and oils for our cars. But the GC 0w-30 does fine for a 5w-30 replacement.

Royal Purple is actually not recommended for our cars.

Really that great of a difference, eh? :interest piqued:

0W - 30 surely would be better when its near zero outside.

Subaru put out an oil TSB in late 05 (if I remember correctly) and Royal Purple didn't meet the ANSI/GF Standards that subaru required. I believe Mobil 1 is the only synth that does. Lucas might too. You can search for the TSB on here... it might even be a sticky.
