my friend put in a boost control solenoid in his car and took it out but lost the wire to reconect it. so he cut it put them back together but he is only getting spring pressure and a code that say high wastegate. when he put the boost control solenoid in it still dont hit boost just the spring pressure. what can be wrong with it? a blown fuse fired the boost control system?

The new one he put in wouldn't be a 3port, would it ?

Possibly.

You need to retune for the 3ports.... Or for ANY BCS for that matter. Everything is changed.

i know thats why he took it out but why when he put the factory one back in it wont hit sny boost

did he remove the restrictor pill?

i dont think so. but i took that off mine is that bad? is there anyway that you can short out the boost control system?

well if the restrictor pill is missing, then you are going to be boosting wastegate pressure (7psi)

you need the restrictor pill, unless you are using a boost controller

now that is the thing thats in one off the lines running to the turbo or wastgate. when i put my evoIII turbo in my factory lines wouldnt fit on the new turbo so i had to buy bigger ones.

really? well i have the evo III 16g as well, but i had no issues with the installation.

I actually had it put in at a shop though, and have a boost controller, so i don't have the restrictor pill.

yup the vaccum line for was car was so small it fits inside the new one i had to get. what kinda boost controler do you have? and did you do the turbo by your self?

i have a forge unos manual boost controller...my tuner picked it out.

I had the turbo installed at a shop.

i did mine myself. but they sent me the wrong turbo i wanted the ported and polished one and i got a plan one. what other parts do you have in your car
