    possible bad MAF question

Pulled a P0171 code about a month ago. cleaned the MAF with crc component cleaner, let dry, reinstalled, cleared code, and car ran like a champ! NOW! a week later the P0171 code is back and car runs like ass.....again! did this procedure twice. could this be a bad MAF? 2004 wrx, 56,433miles and completly stock except for cat back.

    thanks!

Did you actually clean the MAF or did you just clean the IAT sensor (amber bulb)? People constantly mistake the amber bulb for the MAF sensor.

Cleaning the MAF is not a listed routine maintenance. Something caused it to be dirty. Is the air filter clean? Is there an intake leak?
