Hello everyone, my car threw a CEL like always:thumbdown, i got out the scanner and got cylinder misfire in 1,2,and 4. it did this before i had a misfire in 1 and 3 so i changed the plugs and the CEL went away. Now its back on. What should i do?
Is the car actually missing? like do you hear/feel it? Im assuming all of the plugs are new? do you notice a lack of power or anything? does it miss all the time or just under load? how many miles are on the car? How long ago did you install the plugs?
Personally, I would clear the code and see if it comes back if you dont hear it missing at all...Did you clear the code after you replaced the plugs or did the CEL just go out?
CEL just went out. The guy at autozone said and i qoute " yeah man needs new plugs and wires" but i just said ok because i just wanted the code. The wrx has coil packs. so theres no wires right
correct...coil on plug...you could always swap the cyl #1 and cyl #3 coils and see if the misfire follows it..however i would find it hard to believe that like 3 coils would go out at once...Did you replace with stock plugs?
i had this exact problem back in january on my 2002 wrx wagon, except it was cylinders 1,3, and 4. took it to the dealer, turns out there was an update for the computer which solved the issue.
