    Changing Valve Cover Gaskets

    hi all

i own a MY99 WRX and i have noticed that it's leaking oil from the drivers side valve cover gasket - well from one of the bolts actually ..

i have ordered the valve cover gasket kit for both right and left

does anyone know the steps i need to take to change the valve cover gasket on the drives side ?

    thanks in advanced

    cheers

    Justin

I dunno need you to take engino off from chasis, but I exactly know that this is not gasket problem. there are bolts with strange shape. you have to remove only the bolt, then you'll see that it's made the way that you can't retighten the gasket.
you have to remake it and cut amout 1-1.5 mm of material from fat side of the bolt, so the thread side will become longer. then just retighten it.
    I hope you got it

it may be possible that your rocker is just loose, which is can easily be fixed.

+1 torque tighten the bolts until the gaskets arrive...

Then see if you can get to all the bolts with the ability to unscrew them and do the entire process without removing the motor.
