    clunk noise

i just got a 08 wrx and its only got like 800 something miles on it.

last night i decided to floor it and shift quickly.

it seriously felt like the rear end of the car was going to explode. it felt like my s14 before it i installed solid subframe bushings, but that car is old so its understandable. it hits so hard when i shift i thought the subframe hit me in the back of the head, and it threw the rpms around. did this with traction control on and off.

this normal for awd? the hells going on??

Clunking has been an issue in the past but I don't know about '08s - that sounds a bit extreme in any case. I'd have the dealer check it out since you are under warranty. In my '03 I have done the transmission mount, differential mount, and a subframe lock kit and there is still some slight clunk but it is greatly improved. I think it is coming from the carrier bearing for the drive shaft.
