    battery trouble?

My WRX refuses to turn over when i start the car. I'm thinking it's a battery problem, however I'm not too sure. How can I go about troubleshooting it? If it is in fact the battery, can I use the battery can I use the battery out of my spare 1996 Ford Escort?

What year is the WRX? How many miles? Has the car been sitting? Any recent work performed? Have you tried jumping the car? You might be able to use the battery out of the escort...take a look at the CCA (cold cranking amps) on the battery in the escort and the battery in the WRX if they are around the same number You should be able to give it a try...Also is the battery in the escort side post or top post? So is the car cranking or just clicking when you turn the key?

The car has about 93,000 miles and was sitting around while I was at college so that's why I figured it was the battery. I can jump the car to start it. The car is also cranking when I turn the key.
