    unimpressed

hi, i just recently bought an '04 wrx and honestly i was expecting a lot more power-wise. i used to drive a '94 talon and find with the subaru the power just doesn't come on as quickly. it seems a little sluggish. i've cleaned the TB, new plugs and it still seems "slow". and i'm sure these cars are anything but. any ideas as to what else i may try to bring it to life? it has 105,000 km (about 65,000 miles i think) thanks

Do you have a boost gauge or any other ways of monitoring boost? Im thinking maybe you arent hitting your boost targets...Are there any known problems with the car?...In the ways of upgrades you could throw on an intake and an exhaust and get a quality tune and you should notice a difference.....

No offense but didn't you test drive the car before you purchased it? If I were to buy a used performance car I'd expect to be able to let it loose a bit. If it was forbidden by the owner I'd expect there is something they are hiding.

The WRX 2.0 engines made 13.5 PSI of boost stock.

No. You should be hitting less at altitude. What're you using for your boost? OEM boost gauge?

That decal is illegal in california.

OP, maybe you are just experiencing turbo lag. There is no shortage of it on a stock 2.0. If you intend to drive the car spiritedly, you need to make sure you keep it in the power band as much as possible.

    HUGE difference.

Same power, lots more torque on the 2.5.

+1..I notice a huge difference...especially if its an STI over a WRX...the WRX seems to have way more turbo lag than the STI...granted there like a 70 HP difference...lol
