    Strange knocking/Rattling noise

for the past couple days i have been hearing a funny annoying knocking.rattling noise.. i had a friend rev the engine about 100+ times.. it only happens lower rpm bout 3500 and bellow and it mostly happens ass i release the throttle.. im not knocking i checked no negative or positive knock.. i looked everywhere i though it was my o2 dump baning agains my downpipe no dice. i was thinking it might be a screw/nut i dropped but the sound is comming from up top... very frustrating. im going to take it to subaru tommorow but any insite on the cituation.. the most recent thing i did was replace my spark plugs last week.. then took it to subaru and they replaced the plastic pannals that go under the wheel well

my buddy has the same thing going on with his 05 STI

He said when it revs over 3500 or so it goes away, also if he changes his AP map to stock he said it is harder to get the car to make the noise.

If you get any in site from Subaru let me know! He wont be getting his car to the shop for about a week, for now it is just parked.
