    all i have for uprades are front mount intercooler turbo back exhaust and bov also a fuel cut defense. my car actually died on me today when started it up had to hold down gas peddle the later on in the day going into 2nd gear

    1) FMIC on a stock turbo = no.
    2) BOV = no
    3) turboback exhaust without a tune = no

    My guess is a loose intercooler pipe or depending on the intake your using a contaminated MAF sensor.
    And she is 100% right about those mods and no engine management.
