    sound coming from exhaust

so i noticed when i rev the engine a little bit(about 2500) on the way back down(about 2000) there is a chirping sound coming from the exhaust. it kind of sounds like a cricket, and does about 2-3 chirps. it is an 04 wrx with stock exhaust and muffler. is it normal?

Maybe a loose bolt on the DP connecting the catback.... you using those goofy spring bolts on the exhaust that the car came with?

Wait... coming from the back ? Stock ?

Have someone help you rev it a little and pin point it.... might JUST be a vibration.

I don't see how that's normal... Especially if it just started.... BUT, he has been here longer.

Exhausts chirp either when they rub against something or when they have a leak. Check for rubbing or for a loose joint or connection somewhere.

    haha

mine does the same thing, and trust me I walked around my car while it was at idle at work when it first happened for about 90 mins trying to find out what the hell was going on.

anywho (my situation) the stock muffler has two wholes on the tips for the water to drain out, the exhaust air makes it way through these holes all the time making the chip sound. its kinda funny when this happens(all the time)
