    car keeps poppin a MIL

well here is the problem i have a 03 WRX it runns fine for about a hour then it cuts off and popps a MIL i read the code and it says that high exhaust temp was detected i wrok at a performance shop but it is for nissans only so my bosses or any of the other techs dont know alot about subarus i think it may be a o2 sensor and it is causeing the car to run lean wich would make the cylinder heads hot along with the exhaust but a o2 sensor is almost 200 bucks so i would like some other opinions to see what other ideas people might have

You probably need to replace the EGT probe that is in the uppipe. They're about $40.

Are you running a catless uppipe? If so, you should consider some getting some Engine Management and deleting that CEL code.

That code could be a couple of things. The one to worry about is a clogged up cat. If the CEL flashes at you, that's when you stop driving. That means "Catastrophic Catalyst Failure".
Gut your uppipe, or replace, and you should probably be good.
I work on vehicles that make 650hp and 2400ft/lbs.
