gas stations here have been doing that for a long time now. i havent experienced any issues yet. i dont think 10% is really enough to do any damage though.

All gasoline sold between November 1st and April 1st has 10% ethanol.

/\ +1 Been running it for almost a couple of years now in VA.Thats all they sell now year round. You get worse gas milage but the ethonal make the gas less detonation prone. It basiclly raises the octane slightly even though it is not avertised as such.93octane+10% ethonal = more like 94-95 octane.

I know that it has been around.... but just not "labeled" on the pumps.... Nowhere on /in our cars does it say Ethanol safe.... My Titan did, just not my Rex. Guess, another reason for the gas prices dropping... HA

There is not a single gas station in Texas that I've seen that does NOT sell E10 gas (El Paso, Midland, DFW, Houston, San Antonio, and everywhere in between). It's been this way for ~5 years now. I never even noticed any signs about the mix till I noticed the huge drop in gas mileage that I got when they introduced it.

I don't think there are gas stations around anymore that sell just "straight" gasoline. 99.9% of all stations I've filled up at for the last 12 years have stickers on the pump that read "up to 10% ethanol" or something like that. Back in the 70's, it was called Gasohol, or Corn Gas.

All in all, it probably has done nothing for the environment since then, but it most likely made Big Oil trillions of dollars since it's 10% less oil they must refine yet still charge the same $$$.

I fill up at a BP that still has Pure 93 octane. I asked the owner if he was going to change to E10 like every other station in the area. He said he has no intention to.

I call BS... They HAVE to tell you they have changed... No ? I have never seen the sign on the pumps till the other day.... I frequently stop for gas as I never fill up at the stations.

IDK, maybe some parts of the US still use "pure" gasoline. My area does not. It's always been 10% or "up to 10%" ethanol. I am pretty sure of it.

In my travels to NY/NJ last week, I did notice some BIG stickers at the Shell station saying 10%. I did notice it above all things and wondered why the sticker was so big!

My advice: Don't fill up at Shell anymore. They'e always high in my area anyway.

Depends on what you consider "South Texas". IMHO Houston is, not just Brownsville. I haven't seen a gas station without an ethanol mix for years.
