    2008 WRX Oil Questions

As the title says...it's time for my babys first oil change. And if I'm going to spend 30 grand on a new car she's only getting the best of the best. So...Are Greddy oils and filters good?

I have been told by many, many people that you should stick with OEM for the first oil change...beyond that do what you will....besides im not to sure how your dealer does it but at our dealership when you buy a new car your first LOF is free....

+1 on stock filter. other ones such as K&N and other performance filters tend to not do the job of filtering quite as well, but as far as oil its clearly preference lots of guys on here support mobil one but my dealership lets me take in my own oil so i'd look into doing the same if your dealer permits it.

I always use OEM filters as well; in most cases it's the best you can get. If you can't get OEM, Purolator makes the OEM filter so find one of their PureOne.

As far as the oil goes, that's a book of worms to open up (everyone's got their own highly-scrutinized opinion), but reaslistically any quality synthetic oil should serve you well. In my current car I've used M1, Redline, Royal Purple, and Amsoil. IIRC M1 and RP would burn 1/2 qt or so off between changes, while the other 2 didn't really.
