I agree. You gotta let 'er loose once in a while.

I wouldn't consider hitting redline once in a while 'abuse'. It's there for a reason, you're gonna hit the rev limiter shortly after anyway.

"not too loud.."? Yes, it will be too loud, it is illegal (most likely, depending on your state's law) and you will probably get a citation shortly after removing your muffler.

I would disagree. With all the stock cats in place and the midpipe with resonator still in place, its not that loud at all. I have a 2004 WRX, and i ran it with a 2.5" straight pipe from the axel back (bent to come out in the same spot). I drove for about 18,000 miles that way and i loved it. Never once even got a look from a cop.

I do live in Nebraska though...

Why not just go ahead and get a performance Cat Back exhaust system? HKS is in expensive and excellent quality. This would give you that sweet boxer rumble, and give you less turbo lag, and more power.

Why not get a DP instead, it will add a little sound and a lot of performance.

I need to search for the link but this little nugget has gotten me out of tickets for running straight pipe. A turbocharger is considered a noise cancelling device by the federal government. I keep a copy of it in the car just in case.
