Inside this link there is a discussion and a link to another thread, that links to another thread and so on. If you get bored, stop reading and change the oil with the correct type at 3750 mi if your motor is 2.5L turbo and/or has AVCS.

You're thinking of the screen for the AVCS. It usually alerts the owner via a rough idle, giving plenty of warning before it causes any major engine damage. So, less catastrophic than the 'other' screen getting clogged. (or so I have read)

Ah, thanks. I actually remembered discussing stuff with 302 way back when it first came out and I suspected there was some underlying reason for all the "built" 2.5Ls going boom.
