Problem holding boost in 5th gear

This has happened 3 times.....all about 1 month apart. if im pushing it in 4th and shift to 5th get up to about 4000rpm and the boost will dump with throttle, and then the CEL will come on and cruise will flash then 2 start ups later it will go away and each time the code reads back to the wastegate, subaru doesnt really have any for sure suggestions for me...anyone else have this problem? Do i have to get an aftermarket wastegate? Im running Cobb tbe with cat, SPT heatshield, Cobb SR intake, and Cobb AP stage 2.

It sounds like you are getting boost creep. There is a big sticky thread if you look. Usually it isn't a problem if you have a catted DP, but it sounds like the case. You can get your wastegate ported or just don't floor it from low RPM in 5th.

I don't have the issue, but that is what I have read.

Yes there could be, but the system does a good job of protecting against it. Did you hit fuel cut? That sounds pretty harsh to me.

I just re-read you original post, what do you mean by "boost dumps with throttle"?

I think it would be well worth your time to read this and decide if this is the problem you are having:

Have you tried calling Cobb about the issue?
