    HKS BOV Not Blowing Off

I have an HKS BOV on my basically stock '02 WRX that stopped releasing pressure at low to mid boost and barely at higher boost. I was going to try and replace the spring and/or diaphram and see if this fixes my problem but I thought I would ask on here first if anyone has encountered this problem or has ANY suggestions.

Maybe check the vac lines to see if theres a leak. Do you have a boost gauge that slices into it? That could have a leak. If not that definitely check the internals. VTA bovs are notorious for getting wet and the internals corroding. But make sure you dont strip the bolts. I took one apart last month and it was a *****. Let me know what you find.

Nope I don't have a boost gauge or any splices and I forgot to mention that I have already replaced just about every vacuum line that I could see and it made no change.

I was going to take it apart this weekend but I didn't have any tools with me as I'm not at home.

Took me a long time. You need allan keys and possibly a very small wrench for the valve. And of course the wrench to take it off.

yeah. its not doing anything but making noise and causing harm to your car. unless you're running a set up thats pushing more than 20+ lbs of boost, having it is not doing you any good.

now's the perfect time to remove it and replace it with your stock BPV. =)
