How is that possible? Did you just swap the downpipe before you did this? Or did it just fall off out of the blue? It's held on by 5 (6? can't remember) bolts so for the whole thing to fall off is a pretty good trick. I'm guessing it has an aftermarket downpipe that somebody swapped and didn't double tighten the nuts. That's a key step most people don't do. I'd bet there's quite a few people on this board missing some nuts on their downpipes as a matter of fact...

First off, i don't know much about cars so this happening a few days after getting it was a real brain buster. I have no idea how it happened. its not totally disconnected the hose or whatever that connects the two got disconnected, and it was extreamly stiff and seemed too short... but after cranking on it for like an hour i finally got it back connected. I'm definately gonna check other hoses and connections b4 doing much more driving.
and idk about the down pipe, it has a turbo-back exhaust on it along with other mods i have yet to learn of. I'm still getting used to it and finding new things on it.

Is your intercooler an STi one? It almost sounds like the shorter hose was used and with exhaust flex allowing the turbo to move a bit, it just popped off. Not a huge deal, but certainly not something you want to happen again. If the one you have now is indeed too short, you can buy a replacement hose online.

Sounds to me like your inter cooler Y pipe (from turbo outlet into IC) blew off. The clamp probably wasn't tight. no big deal.

No its not the STi IC its the smaller WRX version. yeah thats exactly what happened i'm just glad it wasn't anything major, the sound definately scared me. but yeah i need a new slightly longer hose; the shorter one is still on and tight but i still don't trust it. Where would be a good spot to find a longer hose? know any good wrx sites?

What you need is a Y pipe. I'm not really sure what that elbo is going to connect to. From the outlet on the turbo the plastic tube Y's and goes to two places on the back of the intercooler.

I had a Samco one, but I'd suggest the Prodrive one, just because you don't need the other two peaces, and I don't like TurboXS.

Good point. Take a snapshot of the issue/problem area. post it. If you have the td04 on there and the small wrx IC, then there shouldn't be a problem.

Prodrive has been on backorder for 3 months.... Good luck w/that

Just wondering, Jeremy96gase but why don't u like TurboXS? i've got a TurboXS adjustable boost valve i found in there... haven't had any problems with it, yet.

I don't like TurboXS because of the way it handles some things. We'll just leave it at that.
