    Question Weird oil drain plug?

    So I went to change my oil tonight, and there was a really weird plug , that I have never seen before. Its got a little spring on the end....Just curious if anyone knows what it is....Here is a pic



    Or maybe I am just being stupid lol...Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

    Pic is blurry so hard to tell exactly, but looks like either it was replaced to have a temp probe, or it's one of those plugs you can drain the oil without removing.

    does it have a line coming out the top of it?...if it does i believe it is an oil temp sensor plug....do you have an aftermarket oil temp gauge in the car?...i got one of these the other day....is some huge size like a 1 1/8 inch or something....i ended up just using an adjustable to get it off...

    If the end of the plug can be pushed in or pulled out, it's an easy drain plug that you don't have to remove to drain the oil. Carefull if you try it though, as oil will come out.

    If it doesn't move, it's likely a sensor plug as stated above.

    Thanks for all the help! It doesn't have a line coming out of it but it looks like there could have been. And yea its gotta be at least a 1 1/8 because of course the biggest I had was a inch lol.
