    Red face My New Wrx Problem

    I am from Bulgaria and i bought 01 WRX with small accident.
    But the big problem is the engine.
    it has check engine, it revs very slow and when i try to drive it, revs stops after 4500, i dont hear the turbo at all.
    what cable do i need to connect the cars ecu.

    Hello, welcome to ClubWRX.

    To check the codes you need an ODB-II scanner, it connects to a port under the dash, on the driver side.

    Please post the check engine code
    We can help find out what the problem is.

    I'm not sure how it works in Bulgaria, but in the USA some auto parts stores have ECU scanners, and will scan the ECU for free.

    similar problem I have with my evo one time, well, rev verry slowly and bug up the 4.5k rpm, the problem: some lose vaccum hose going to the BOV or wastegate, I donŽt remember clearly...hope it helps

    I order Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 but now i see that it doesnt work with EcuExplorer.
    Which software have option "reset ecu" and work with Tactrix OpenPort 2.0?

    it sounds like a possibly clogged cat converter. my bros old s10 wouldnt rev over 3k and the cat was junk


    edit. the cat was broken into pieces inside clogging the flow of exhaust gasses
