cluster lights & climate control lights are out?

My Cluster lights and my climate control lights stopped working. Headlights still work but the dimmer switch doesn't. When i replace the dimmer switch fuse, it burns out immediately. My cd player is stock, if that helps and it still has light but it no longer dims when I turn on my headlights- like it used to. The only lights that work on the cluster are the warning lights and the odometer back. the speedometer lights dont work so I can never tell how fast I'm going at night. can anyone help? PLEASE!!!!!

    It sounds like a short.

Did you buy this new? Do you know of any electrical work done?

I'm the second owner and the only electrical work done to by the first owner is that he disabled the daytime running lights.
