Why is my SPT filter turning white?

Just replaced it a couple thousand miles ago. At first, it was a nice blue color like the previous one. Now it looks whitish-gray. Pisses me off, because those things are like $40 a piece.

Did my turbo suck the blue out of it?

I'm confused, why did you replace it if it only had 2,000 miles on it?

Well if it's white then it probably doesn't have any of that blue stuff left on it to work right. Make sense? No? oh well...

Also, I did exhange it for a new one.
