i got a question and need help

i got an 06 wrx and im wondering where on the rpm range does the turbo kick in? also im getting sort of a grinding noise at 4500 rpm. any thoughts? thanks

Typically after 3-3500rpm...

Where is the grinding coming from? When does it happen?

no mods on the car. i just bought it used actually from a dealership. it sounds like its coming from the engine

I would definitly take it back to the dealer for an inspection, i assume it has some warrenty on it. Grinding of any sort cannot be good. When does it happen?

yeah it seems like it. it only happens when i accelerate and the rpms hit 4500. im gonna go get it checked out sometime soon by my mechanic. i know the turbo doesnt have a warranty on it but the engine still has like 4k miles on the warranty

Why would the turbo not have warrenty but the engine does?
If you have no mods as you stated, your car should have a warrenty on everything. Assuming you havent turned 60k on the clock
