    mysterious mod

I just got my first WRX (2005) and was wondering what this mod might be. Next to the fog lamp button is an analogue number display like an old rolling odometer that has two buttons one above and one below that change the number higher/lower.

Any help would be much appreciated.

any other details? if you look up under the dash are there hoses or wires running to it? if so where do they go.

Sounds like possibly an electronic boost controller perhaps?

Maybe as something as simple as a FM transmitter to play MP3's on.

Dunno its late and my brain is shutting off.
