Ran Out Of Gas .. Now I Have Problems

I ran my 03 WRX out of gas .. Thankfully at home. Now it starts and runs for 1/2 a second and shuts off. I have put injector cleaner in the tank and changed the fuel filter. WTF!!! Has anybody had this problem or does anybody have any suggestions?

perhaps your fuel pump seized when it ran dry? other than that, try resetting the ecu via disconnecting the battery.

Indeed you could have screwed up the pump.

    Two things:
    1. Pumps are cooled by the gas surrounding them.
    2. OEM Electric fuel pumps don't like to "dry prime".

If you cranked on it a while before you figured out what was wrong, you could have damaged it.

My best guess is that you didn't run out of gas in the first place.

Before you remove the pump, I say drain the tank to see if you have a healthy dose of water.

your other post says this happened after you swapped out intakes.

    Timing Belt MAybe??? Help Please!!

I still stand by my response in your other post (that is if this did indeed happen after swapping intakes and not running out of gas)
