    A/C Compressor problems...

I have 2 problems with my A/C... for a while the a/c has only worked on high mode (4), and im thinking its the blower resistor? not sure if this has to do with that or something else but when the car is in idle, its not very cold, but when i begin driving it becomes colder... same thing with the heat.

but recently, there has been a squeeling comming from under my hood and i caught it one day when i popped the hood, the a/c compressor was not spinning... it will spin normally then just stop and the squeeling starts. is this the bearings inside that have gone bad or the clutch? How much am i looking to fork out to replace or is it even necessary if i dont want to us my a/c? thanks in advance

It probably is, yes. Check the manuals online for the wiring diagramme.

Hopefully it's neither. Hopefully it's the belt. You can tighten it but if it is the belt, that'll not help much. When this happened to me, I replaced the two belts (A/C and alt/steering) with two new belts bought from a dealer. No more problems here. Hopefully this is your problem too. If it's not, well, you'll have found out and you'll have two new belts on the car -- never a bad thing and not too expensive. It's a $50 experiment worth doing IMO.

    This sounded familiar...

Incidentally, we've already had this conversation:

and I'd still suspect the blower fan resistors on connector B86 (brown in diagramme).

    and for the second issue:

It used to be a small plastic part behind the glovebox. I do not know if it still is though. You might ask a dealer if this is the correct part for you, or if not, what part is correct (this is for an older car):
