losing oil please help

i'm not sure whats going on with my car. right after i replaced the stock turbo with the new stock. i noticed i would have to put more oil in. about a quart or so around 300-500miles. is this normal? i don't see any smoke coming out the exhaust or engine. also there's no oil leaks. i' heard that the third or forth cylinder runs a lil lean? thinking about doing a compression leak test? please help.
