motor blew need help

so i bought a 2004 wrx sti with 38000 car hasent been modified i was drivin it around to go hang out and some thing broke and a loud ticking and loss of power it noe has bought 40500 i took it in to the dealer and the took it apart and the number 4 piston fell apart the dealer gave me the run around the only modification is a turbo timer the dealer told me is was a boost controler but i proved that wrong is thier any body that had a blown motor with no mods

I am confused... Did you buy it with a boost controller, or did you put that on? Either way, assuming you didn't get a manufacturers extended warranty I am not sure what the difference is as to how it blew.

check on nasioc or iwsti. I've heard/read many cases of trashed pistons in the early STIs..
