so i have an 05 WRX wagon with this intermittent problem with my electrical system. About once a month it hesitates to start, it will crank and crank, but not turn over. After a few cycles it will finally turn over. In addition to this at night sometimes my head lights will temporarily dim slightly. My only guess is there is a loose ground somewhere...any other ideas, or where to look?

My '03 has the same cranking problem. Same as you, about once a month. I didn't notice anything with the headlights though. Does anybody else have this problem?

yes my 04 headlights dim sometimes when i signal left or right. it hasn't happened lately but in the past it was fairly common. I've had trouble starting my car as well but i assumed its because it was winter and the cold was not good for the battery which was a few years old.

I have had the same problem with my 2003 WRX but along with the head lights the lights inside the car dim for about 15 seconds.

There are basic things you can do:

    *clean battery connections/terminals
    *load test battery
    *clean ground terminals/connections
*replace battery with better quality (Optima Red or Yellow) with higher CCA
