    what to do...
i have an aftermarket HID conversion set up and my left bulb stopped turning on, and my right flickers and shuts off at high rpm's. so i purchased a brand new h7 (this is the bulb type according to sylvania) kit online thinking it was a ballast issue. ever since ive had the car the fog lights have not worked for some reason. so i take the battery out and jack up the car to access the aftermarket headlight ballasts inside the front bumper. as im under the car i see that the fog lights arent even clipped in, so i clip them. then realize that i cant even get to the ballasts cuz i cant figure how to take the damn front bumper off!! i reassemble the bottom of the car and pull it down from the jack. i then remember that there is a green clip under the steering wheel that was never clipped so i clip that and the fog lights turn on. so that seemed to fix that. but when i turn the key to where only the lights turn on my check engine light flashes and the fans start going crazy turning on and off. i can hear a clicking from the fuse box which sounds like a relay. i check all of the fan relays and they are fine so i unclip the green fog light clamp under the dash and the check engine light turns off and so do the fans, everything back to normal. whats going on there??????

then i look at the fuse for the left headlight and its burnt out. so i pull the extra 15a fuse and put it in there then turn on the headlights. nothing. so i pull the fuse out again and now this new fuse has burnt out in only 3 seconds. is this a short??? what could be happenening here????

all in all what is going on with:

    -right headlight flicker
    -left headlight short
    -fog light and fan issue
    -disassembly of front bumper
    -correct headlight bulb type

please see my clutch help forum also
    bad clutch?????

thanks for reading all of this

    Green clip

Well I cant speak much for your other issues I can tell you that green connector has nothing to do with your fog light/lighting issues. That is the test connector and is used when installing an accessport and I am sure subaru utilizes that when they update and ecu. So just leave that un connected...

The green plugs that fit together are the "Test mode connectors" and put the car in diagnostic mode which is why the CEL blinks, the fans cycle on and off and a number of other diagnostic things.
They should not be plugged together for normal operation.
