    Fix My Windshield Washer Pump

Ok, this is not a performance question, but my windshield washer pump is not working. I used some new washer fluid with vinegar, not sure if that played a part in it, but nothing is pumped out. Where is the fuse for the pump? What can I look for or test for to see where the problem is? Is it difficult to fix or replace?

Fuse box is usually near the hood release latch... Other than that, don't know, can u warranty the bad boy?
If you have an 03, the pump might be dead. Nothing is meant to last forever, except love for the rex.

Maybe the vinegar clogged the pump. Or ate away at the insides of the pump? Take the entire reservoir out, (for me thats 2 bolts) and have a friend hit the switch for the washers.Listen to see if the pumps trying to work. If not the pumps probably dead. If you haven't done anything to the electrical it's probably not a fuse.

I took out all the fluid in the res. and replaced it with regular water and took it out and put regular water in it again and had a friend push the button in the car and only heard the motor for the wipers. nothing around the res. or pump.

Is that difficult to replace and is it costly? Does is have to be a Subaru OEM pump?

If you have double checked all your electrical connections, I would try another person's pump. See if you can't swap motors. If you plug the new one in and it works, problem solved.

Im sure you can find a pump in the junk yard and do a custom job to make it work. I bought my 03 and the entire tank wasn't even there, but i found a OE tank and pump on ebay... cost me 30 bucks shipped. Also check out the "Complete car part-out" on NASIOC your bound to find it.
