RPM spike inbetween shifts Please help

Hi my name is Dan and I have owned a 02 Subabru Impreza WRX for about a year now.

Whenever I shift gears, my rpm spikes about 300 to 600 rpms once I push in the clutch. It mainly does this in 3rd and 4th gear, and the more throttle I give it the more the rpm's spike when the clutch is in. The spike is only for a second then it goes back to normal. Im sure the gas pedal ins't in when I push the clutch. i have driven clutch for my whole life and this is the first time I've had the problem. i thought it might be a sticky throttle but have looked it over many times. It doesn't stick from what I can see.

Has it done this for the entire time you have owned the car or did it start doing it recently? If so, what changed? Did you do something to the car and then it started doing it or did it just appear out of nowhere? A little more info would be appreciated...kinda sounds like just a driver thing. Maybe ask someone else to drive your car and see if they notice it. Doesn't sound serious though.

Oh, and if you have any mods or anything that isn't totally stock please post up so we can try to include that in a diagnosis.
