For everyone that hasnt been here long enough to remember....there are several 02-03 WRX's which run just fine with TBE and no EM. It's really not a HUGE issue until 04+ when they started dealing with ol/cl delays and what not.

A 02-03 is also the "best" year if you are running a MBC untuned. Again it's not the "best" mod out there but as long as you drive around and monitor for PT/FB you shouldnt have any major issues.

It's not the idea setup, but it's not OMG ITz Goings to be blewed up in a week that some people make it out to be. You are leaving power on the table by no having engine management but odds are the 02 ECU is doing fine.



Oh and when you have the MBC "off" you are only boosting wastegate pressure due to the restrictor pill being missing.

Yeah, I wasn't going to mention it. Back in the day, everyone with a bugeye was running around with uppipe, downpipe, and no em with no issues. That's back when we were all saving for a Unichip.

ok but you and i know that for the most part running THOSE mods are 1) mostly unneeded (turbo timer/boost controller).. 2) as well as unsafe (usually) without EM.

i was simply pointing that out.
