x2. A DP will help you hear the turbo whistle quite nicely. This is a more "advanced" mod because you need to run some sort of engine management when you get a DP. I have both on my car.

Keep in mind that some engine management maps aren't compatible with aftermarket intakes.

Actually, a buddy of mine does use one on his 2004 STi without problems, but he does have a Buschur base map protuned by PDX.

There is no tune that can make up for the way a BOV messes up our cars.

Do some reading and learn why - or remain ignorant and keep a tight eye on your oil level and live with reduced performance simply because you think a whoosh noise sounds cool.

The SPT and K&N SRI's will both give you some of the noise you are looking for and will allow you to leave the stock BPV in place.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, everything I've read points to BOVs being bad for our cars.

I used my buddy's example as a counterpoint, but I failed to mention that he upgraded his BOV because he runs much higher boost than stock on an upgraded turbo (with supporting mods), NOT to get the cool sound.

As Micah mentioned, do some research and see the reasoning behind why these are bad for our cars, then decide for yourself if you think it's worth the cool sound.

I personally would NOT risk it. See my first post in this thread.

Ah yep on all three points. The SPT intake will work as well.

Good. Many better things to spend on. Gas comes to mind.

SPT intake ain't all its cracked up to be. It's actually been known to make our cars run lean :-(

Cobb hot air intake is ok.

If you want the noise, do the following:

Get the intake of your choice and put it in the trunk. Drive over to a tuner, install said intake and have them tune the car for it.

Its the only safe way to hear the pssshhhhht psssssshhhhhht, unless you eat some taco bell and drink fizzy soda...

Do you really need an intake short of 350hp?
