    Exclamation Radiator leak..

    Hello everybody,

Just bought my first 2002 WRX in January. Love it verrrry much.

Anyways, yesterday was a pretty hot day maybe like 86 degrees, decided to take off my front badge. So did the whole blow dryer/dental floss.

So anyways, later in the day i'm driving and start smelling "maple syrup" Pull over and notice a leak in my front passenger side. I'm not sure whats up, my temperature meter was doing fine staying in the middle, but more towards the cool side. I still did over 60 miles of driving that night. So I guess it's the radiator, right?

So am I going to need a new radiator? and how much is that going to cost? and you think the blowdrying the front emblem had anything to do with it?

    Thanks!

Don't guess. Remove the air intake plastic piece to the left of the radiator and have a look around. Find the leak.

So am I going to need a new radiator?
Only you can answer that. If it's a hose, you'll need a hose and some coolant ($30 or so). If it's the radiator, and it's a metal part, you'll need it soldered ($100 or so) but if it's a plastic part of the radiator or the seam between metal and plastic, you'll need it replaced ($300 and up).
nd you think the blowdrying the front emblem had anything to do with it?
Unless you poked a hole into something, no.
