Check out the attached photos. I was changing the spark plugs and noticed there was a lot of oil deposited around what looks to be the valve cover. Let me know what you guys think. Is it the valve cover gasket? If so is that a PITA to change in this car?

Yes it's a common failure and yes IMO it's a pain to change; this is personal opinion since I have shorter and thicker fingers than I'd prefer in order to do this stuff.
I had the dealer do mine under warranty.
