    chk engine light??

hello all you super cool WRX lovers! i am very proud to say that i can now officially join your ranks!! i just bought my first subie. its an 02 red wrx wagon! i searched for a year and a half to find my new baby! i finally found one that was clean enough and with the right mileage. i totally love this car already! the only issue so far is that my chk engine light comes on. it seems to get triggered when i am in the process of passing someone on the interstate or if i'm just trying to get up some speed. it seems to mainly happen in 4th gear. i'll be speeding up and out of nowhere the engine will over-rev at about 4000 rpm. it makes the car slow down and shake just a tad. then the light stays on for about a day or so then goes off????
anyone have any answers for me?? thanks
