what about a uprated fuel pump

simple problem. simiple solution
You have an 07 WRX. You have a catless TBE set-up. that's already bad. 06-07's need to have at least one cat (even a high flow cat) and second: you're running TBE without engine management. You can maybe get away with this on older models but not an 07!
Because you don't have either, you're experiencing what is called "boost creep" where your turbo peaks way higher than normal due to increased exhaust flow without EM. THerefore your ECU is gonna throw a CEL and Fuel Cut, making your car jump, and die. No fun.
solution:
get EM
optional: high-flow cat
oh, and if you don't wanna get something like a CObb AP, or go and get your car open source tuned then there are tunes you can get online from places like romraider.com and some other places to put a tune on your ECU

would a up rated fuel pump and a remap do the trick

No need for FP - get a ECU reflash ASAPOriginally Posted by obi
Cobb AP is most popular, but XPT maps would be the cheaper option.
