    Track day issues -- Vanishing oil and Speed limiter

    I picked up an 05 STi (~40k mi) about 6 weeks ago, and had it to the Pocono north course for a driving school recently. There was a fresh oil change using mobil1 5W-30 and the mobil1 filter when I picked up my car. The levels were verified before I was at the track.

    After the track, I had the car into the dealer for a second key, so I got an oil change, too. They said there was only 1 qt of oil left in my car!

    so, now that i have acknowledged i should have monitored it more closely while there, can anyone tell me how much oil burn-off would be typical in ~80 minutes of on-track time? The course does use one banked nascar turn, assuming those g's might have an affect on oil flow through the car.

    since the oil change after the track, the oil still seems fine, and i autocrossed this past weekend.

    One more thing -- is the speed limiter ~120mph? that seems about 10mph too low, but my revs were bouncing at 5.5k in 5th instead of 7k like all the lower gears.

    my background: this was my first track event AND this is my first turbo car, so i'm not really sure what i should expect.

    i think 1 quart of oil per every thousand miles is normal

    weird none of mine cut off till about 150 something when they were stock
