    Need Help

Hey guys, currently have an 04 wrx. about 2 weeks ago or so my car started acting up. This is kind of hard to explain but i will try my best. For example, i would be doing 80 on the freeway in 5th gear, id floor it, and the RPM gauge would just jump up a couple k and drop back down, and start going up steadily, all this while the pedal was floored. It's like, id floor the car in any gear, the RPM gauge would go crazy but id only start to feel the pull after 2 seconds or so of flooring the pedal. I went to the mechanic, and they said that my clutch is slipping and basically it is not holding pressure as it's supposed to. My car has about 32k but i do drive it pretty hard. This was on a factory clutch, as of right now my car is in the shop and getting an ACT clutch installed. If anyone has had troubles like these please let me know and if you can suggest anything and if in fact that was the clutch acting up. And if anyone knows anything about ACT. Thanks.

Sounds like clutch to me. I don't know much about aftermarket clutches though, other than it's easy to get one with too much grip.
