Are these Subaru Oil Filters interchangable?

I was changing the oil on on a 2005 Saab 9-2x and the black oil filter in the picture (part number 15208AA100) was on the car. The car has 10,000 miles on it now but at 6k I had a saab dealership do a syhthetic oil and filter change. Due to the fact that the oil level was very low after being topped off many times and that the oil filter that was on the car was made in japan I conclude that the dealer ship never changed the filter and maybe even the oil. What do you guys think?

Also, is it ok to replace the black oil filter (part number 15208AA100) with the white oil filter (part number 15208AA060)? I am aware of the heat issues with the wider oil filters but, I use the white oil filter on my 2003 wrx for all oil changes. The oil temp on the wrx is highest at 210 deg F when sitting in traffic on a hot summer day. Otherwise its steady at about 195 deg F.
