    Coolant reservoir

I have a leak coming from the gasket on the coolant reservoir. I called the dealer to get a new gasket, but the parts guy said I would need to buy the whole reservoir which is $109. Has anyone replaced this gasket? I'm wondering if this dude was mistaken. Thanks

What coolant reservois? The plastic reservoir by the headlight up front? Or the metal reservoir with the coolant cap on it?

If your talking about the one by the turbo, this might be true. When I was doing the "paint removal" mod, I looked in my factory manual for the torque specs on the lid and it doesn't show it all and doesn't mention removing the lid. This makes me think that the gasket might not be available separately, as the factory manual is usually pretty good about showing the disassembly of parts.

Oh, buy it online instead. You'll usually save quite a bit. www.subaruparts.com or

If it's not available, try the reservoir from the '06 instead, it's (thermo)plastic.

    Sorry Man

Hey, I'm a subaru tech too. If you have a FMIC just get a new one. I have a lot of these aftermarket kinds. They are BEST put on FMIC's. I have the original sitting here. It is used though. No holes or scratches. I had my Intercooler replaced, so we had to take it out. If you want it just AIM me at CyberneticEmcee or Email me at kamikazikrew@hotmail.com and we can work something out about getting it to you. I have FMIC's for around $400 too. They are nice. You just have to take out the fog lights. I love it though. I have HID's so I don't need them.
