Yes, you can get the exact plastic bolts, plugs and clips at your dealer and they'll generally run you a buck or two each(though they may only come in packs of 4 or 6 or whatever). But any parts store (Pepboys, Autozone, etc.) carries a stock of similar stuff for less, so if you're not too fussy you can save a few bucks. They'll work fine except in places where you might need the easily removeable type, such as holding in the grille.

Just went through it. Dealer only on clips that hold the body parts unless you have a lot of time on your hands to shop around. Most big auto parts stores do have those for the inner fenderwells and other underbody stuff

    plastic "bolts"

Just bought some today for my 2002, part number 46064AE000.
They're the clips that attach the mudspats to the fender and various other locations.
    About a buck each

Can you give a link to where to get one from? I need one that I lost right under the front bumper.

I bought mine from the local dealer.
You could buy from www.subaruparts.com though.

    Thanks!

Oh wow, thankfully I'm not the only one here about this! I was about to post this very same question.

I had my WRX on the lift earlier this week changing my oil. Why Subaru went from the 02 underbody guard to the 04/05 one that covers everything... I don't know. It's annoying as hell! I'm thinking of going to a junkyard and taking an 02 off if I can find it and put it on my 04... so I don't have to remove that guard EVERY TIME I change my oil. *arg*

So, I broke one of those plastic clips trying to tug it out of the socket... and need a new one.

Any ideas if something else easier can be used instead?

Plastic clips are $0.78 each at the dealership.

I've often used little black wire ties, especially on the splashguard. It's easier and cheaper to just clip them off when I change the oil and then slap some new ones on. On most locations they hold just as tight as the black clips.

Has anyone tried just cutting the sheild so that it would be easier to access the oil filter? I've only changed the oil once and didn't have time to do that while I had it off but it is a pain in the ass.
