    AC is broken???

Finally nice enough out to turn on the AC and all I get is a hissing noise and no cooling. Only thing I have had done since the last time I used the AC was getting RA Gears installed. I did a search but couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any links to faqs or any help would be appreciated. The car is an 02 WRX.

Not a car expert but worth a check since I know this effects the AC and heating. Check the cabin air filter located behind the glove box. See if theres gunk in it, or needs replacement.

Wow a reply. Thanks for the suggestion I will try to check that out tonight. The car is up around 67k miles now and I know I haven't done it and I doubt the dealership has.

No problem also check your feon levels. No feon, no A/C. Maybe its your feon since you never said anything about heating not working.

"Feon" huh? I think you mean freon... Anyway, there is a good chance you or whoever installed your RA gears damaged an AC compressor line when installing the tranny. Might want to have a peak under the car.

Still haven't gotten it fixed but from the sounds of it there must be a leak or something becuase the air blows just fine it just doesn't cool down.

My AC just broke as well.

Line from compressor to Condensor leaked.

It should be really really easy to spot a leak, clean out your engine compartment and the oil blowing out from AC lines will attract dirt like a big arrow saying "here is the leak"
