take 680 and exit caliveras rd. this will take you from milpitas all the way to sunol. its a very windy fun drive. the only downside is that the rd is just big enough for 2 cars so blind corners are scarry and some spots its just wide enough for one car so be careful.![]()

CALAVERAS road is greatI used it as an alternative when I was working in Sunnyvale and 680 was jam packed.
the road up to Mount Diablo is not bad either, you can see the other cars coming easily...but if you mke a mistake you're dead....
Also try the 84 from Livermore to the 680...whith little traffic is great.
Any dirt-flat road around here?
Ok a little loop for fun, better early in the morning to avoid traffic
From Pleasanton get on Stanley for a 5 mile straight....(floor that WRX) take right on Adeline St and get on 84 for some turns, get back on 680 North and exit at Sunol, after some Highway fun. At Sunol you can either go back (right) on Calaveras for more turns or on Foothill for less turns and back to the starting point.
Repeat
About 30 mins loop..depending on speed.
