Outside Gatlinburg TN there is a road known as The tail of the Dragon or US 129 it is an 11 mile stretch of 2 lane blacktop with something like 318 curves. Unfortunately, I when I drove it I was driving my girlfriend's Pontiac Sunfire so it wasn't as much fun as it could have been. But if you are in the Gatlinburg area and want to take a few hour drive i recommend lookin this place up.

Same could be said for the motorcycles. Tons more horror stories about cyclists crossing double yellows and wrecking.

I learned about this road many years ago, way before I ever came to this forum. It's common among all motor enthusiasts, which is probably why you got the response you did. Don't take offense.

As per my understanding, there is a specific turn on the ToTD in which, at the conclusion of the turn, there is a hill. Supposedly this hill has been responsible for sending many sportbikes into an old oak tree, where they remain to this day. I should very much like to see this some day: an Oak XMas Tree with motorcycles for ornaments.
