    Your front end looks almost like mine right now because of the accident. Yours is kind of worse though.

    1 head off

    Looks fine to me....but then again...all of the valves are closed....might be nicked up inside.......at least pistons look good on this side...and valves are all there....

    ok..other head is off, and it looks pristine too...

    everything looks ok....

    Giving up for the night. May try to push valves off of seat to check them tomorrow...

    Thanks for keeping us apprised. This thread is the most fun, getting the story in installments. Kinda like a soap opera BUT VASTLY MORE IMPORTANT!

    valves

    i just inspected both heads....put the cams back on with heads on the bench, and cycled everything...inspected the valve faces, the back of the valves, and the seats...


    EVERYTHING looks new....I can find no signs of contact.....




    I am going to put the heads back on with new head gaskets, and start re-assembling the motor.....then do a leak down test for final verification...

    Looks like I may not have to do much engine work (aside from re-assy)

    Working on getting engine back together (as soon as gaskets show up)

    Not sure how long car will be in the shop...they cant start on it till Jan....By the time it gets back, I HOPE to have all the parts to put it back together...most are on the way...


    Noticed Uppipe was rattling around a bit when I picked it up last nite...FIXED that....

    Still need a PSM passenger fender....ANYONE?????

    EXCEPT I am afraid I am getting screwed on the radiator I bought...still isnt here, and I am not getting any calls returned...Looks like I may have to use some frequent flyer miles and fly up to NJ to GET it....

    Have you considered getting a fiber glass front end body(ie fenders, bumper, hood-in OEM style or other)....it'd be reasonably cheap and lightweight.
