Window Tint Laws (please add to this)

I just got my windows tinted to the legal specs I have found. I live in IL, I got 20% on back windows, and back windshield, then I got 35% on the front windows, and a 6 inch strip that is also 35%. I spoke with a sherrif today (about my tints, and a parking ticket I got) and he said its perfect because I didnt get a ticket for it. He says thats excatly the legal limit. So those are the laws the sherif's go by!

I know for sure that I'm jinxing myself, but my tint is probably the only thing that I haven't been ticketed for. Cops are evil, but there are a lot of decent NYC cops that won't waste their time bothering you.

By the way, I'm 17% light transmission front, 7% on all rear windows.

i have 35% on front and 5%on the back but you can still see the person in the car very well..

Front windshield: None (except strip at the top)
Front windows: 35%
Rear windows + windshield: Any

OHIO:

50% tint all around is legal. Anything lower, you get tickets.

I'm getting 35%

in MAss tint law is 35 front and rear

i say screw them, cuz i have 12% and still have not got pulled over...

Texas:

33% windshield strip (goes to 25% 9/03)
35% side windows (goes to 25% 9/03)
0% rear window (with 2 side mirrors)

(side rear windows can be 0% for 'multipurpose' vehicles)

Less restrictive law signed this Spring goes into effect in September.

I have been tinting fo 2 years now 0% would be like black spray painting the windows you can only have 5% (limo) on back windows only.

This chapter (547) also has the regs on allowable lighting.

Oregons Laws, according to http://www.leg.state.or.us/ors/815.html, section 815.221:

- Side and rear windows: 35%
- Top 6 inches of the windshield: no limit
- mirror finishes not allowed

WHAT THE **** IS THIS?

I was driving in Schamburg, IL last night and got pulled over for my window tint. When I went to the place where I got them installed they said I had the legal limit. I got a 75 dollar ticket and the police officer said that I am not allowed to have ANY tint on my car. I have 20% in the back window and back doors, 35% on the front doors, and a 6 inch bar on the front windshiled that is also 35%. Does anyone know what I can do. I signed an iBond to get my license back. Thanks.
